The Premier League relegation battle is shaping up to be one of the most dramatic in years, with six clubs separated by just eight points at the bottom of the table. Here’s our full breakdown of who’s going down — and who might just survive.
Current Bottom Six (after 26 games)

15th — Crystal Palace: 31 points
16th — Tottenham: 29 points
17th — Burnley: 26 points
18th — West Ham: 24 points
19th — Ipswich Town: 22 points
20th — Wolverhampton: 18 points
Wolverhampton Wanderers — 1/5 to go down
Wolves look doomed. Eight points from safety with 12 games to play, they have won just three league matches all season and have the worst defence in the division (52 goals conceded). Their goal difference of -32 is catastrophic. Barring a miracle, the 2026-27 season will be spent in the Championship.
West Ham United — 6/4 to go down
Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment was supposed to steady the ship, but West Ham’s form has barely improved. Their relegation six-pointer against Wolves on Wednesday is absolutely crucial — a defeat could see them dragged further into trouble, while a win would provide vital breathing space. The London Stadium atmosphere has turned toxic.
Ipswich Town — 5/4 to go down
Ipswich’s second successive season in the Premier League has been a struggle. Kieran McKenna’s side play attractive football but simply don’t have the quality to convert chances at this level. They need investment in January — but with the window now closed, they must make do with what they have.
Burnley — 11/8 to go down
The incredible comeback win at Crystal Palace has given Burnley a lifeline. That 3-2 victory ended a 16-game winless run and could be the turning point. Their remaining fixtures include home games against Wolves, Ipswich, and West Ham — all direct rivals. If they can win those six-pointers, survival is realistic.
Tottenham Hotspur — 5/1 to go down
The most extraordinary subplot of the season. Spurs in 16th, five points above the drop zone, with no manager after sacking Thomas Frank. If they were to go down it would be their first relegation since 1977. The next appointment is arguably the most important in the club’s modern history.
Our Prediction
Going down: Wolverhampton, Ipswich Town, West Ham
Surviving: Burnley (just), Tottenham, Crystal Palace
Burnley’s Palace win could prove to be the decisive moment. Tottenham have the squad quality to pull clear, even in their current state of disarray. West Ham’s fixture list — which includes trips to Arsenal, City, and Liverpool — looks brutally difficult.
