Tottenham Hotspur have parted ways with head coach Thomas Frank after a dismal run of eight consecutive Premier League matches without a win, the club confirmed on Tuesday evening.

The Danish manager, who replaced Ange Postecoglou at the start of the season, leaves with Spurs languishing in 16th place on just 29 points from 26 matches — averaging a meagre 1.12 points per game. The club sit just five points above the relegation zone, a position unthinkable for a club of Tottenham’s stature.

What Went Wrong?

Frank arrived with a strong reputation built at Brentford, where he had consistently overachieved with limited resources. However, the step up to a “Big Six” club proved too great. Spurs have scored just 28 goals in 26 league games — the lowest tally of any side in the top half — and have kept only four clean sheets all season.

The final straw came after a limp 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a result that left fans streaming for the exits well before the final whistle. Boos rang around the ground at full-time, with supporters demanding change.

Who Could Replace Frank?

Reports suggest Igor Tudor is among the early frontrunners for the role, while former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo — currently in charge of West Ham — has also been mentioned. The club are understood to be seeking an experienced manager capable of an immediate impact, with relegation now a genuine possibility at 5/1 with most bookmakers.

Tottenham have not been relegated from the top flight since 1977. With 12 games remaining, whoever takes charge will face an almighty task to steer the club to safety while managing a fragile dressing room and an increasingly hostile fanbase.

Academy coach Chris Davies will take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis, starting with Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest.
