 World Cup Qualies
«Thread Started Oct 10, 2017 at 14:07 pm»

You gotta feel for Wales.
Despite being English, they are more deserving of a World Cup place than we are based on grit and determination alone - England have been dreadful to watch, all the ball but little end product, no excitement, seemingly lacking passion...it's a shame.
Good luck to both the Irish as well in the play-offs, fingers crossed for some better draws! I'd also have liked to have seen the Scots make the play-offs as well, been a while since we've had a full house in with a chance of qualification.

There you have it, my totally unbiased view of the state of home football!

Unfortunately for Wales they lacked quality in the matches that count, same as Scotland.

Despite the talent we have (minus delph), which however we put it we do have talent. Lots of the players prove time and time again for their clubs how good they are.

But, they pull on an England jersey and are disconjointed and awful. I think some of them need motivation (god knows why), but Southgate is not the man for the job.

Whenís the last time and England manager bounced up and down the touch line!

Hodgson spent his tenure sat in the dugout, we need passion from the manager as well as players

Wales were not good enough. Straight up.

We lost Allen and then were toothless.

But to be honest, I am not surprised. Wales overachieved last summer and had a good run in this campaign but we should have won at home against RoI.

They were dirty, negative and efficient at it.

But that's football. Hope they lose in the play-offs.

Well, that went all to shit.

Switzerland played well enough defensively but, as usual, the offense was lacking. My hope is that the playoffs will be kind to us.

And the USA? Well after watching them dismantle Panama last week with speed in the transition game, I was certainly expecting something other than the lethargic performance I witnessed last night. Hopefully, a moment of darkness that will allow the US to move in another direction for the future.

It's time for a changing of the guard. It will be sad to say goodbye to Howard and Dempsey but, a welcome relief to get rid of Bradley.

2022?

Bitterness much?

They were effective, and winning the way they did has been a part of football for ever and a day. I was actually impressed with Ireland, they knew how to qualify whereas Wales didnít.

Well apparently Australia won against Syria and now play Honduras next. I think if we beat them then we are in.

That's right - it's a bloody minefield to get to the WC if you're in North/Central America or Asia/Oceania!!
